Job SummaryUnder the supervision of the Maintenance Foreman and/or Site Manager, the Plant Mechanic is responsible to work independently on all maintenance and repair tasks within the aggregate plant.
Main Responsibilities Examines and diagnoses problems, and repairs according to generally accepted methods. Discusses extensive or difficult in depth repairs with Foreman and/or Site Manager Performs routine scheduled maintenance as outlined by the Foreman and/or the Site Manager Removes components for repair or replacement such as, but not limited to; motors, gearboxes, pulleys, bearings, rollers, conveyor belts, v-belts, pumps, screens, crushers etc. Disassembles components, inspects parts for wear, and determines cause of failure Troubleshoots and repairs hydraulic systems, and components Inspects and replaces parts such as crusher liners, screen media, etc. Overhauls or rebuilds serviceable components Performs major welding and cutting -- must pass a welding/cutting test (certification strongly preferred) Performs other duties as assigned Skills 5 years minimum experience or similar industry experienced preferred Must have knowledge of welding material, welding properties, and various type of metals Must have welding experience Must be able to perform bracing, welding, arc-welding and cutting tasks Must know how to use tools required for the job Must be able to change crusher liners without guidance of the Foreman and/or Site Manager Physical Requirements Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, lift, stoop, kneel, twist, crouch, reach, balance, crawl, and climb Good vision (naturally or with correction) Able to lift 50 pounds on a routine basis Able to work in wet and dry conditions and extreme heat and cold Work in an environment that may include mechanical parts, airborne particles and moderate to loud noises requiring the consistent use of proper PPE Ability to walk on uneven surfacesColas Inc. and its subsidiaries are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
