Plant Operator
Description

Position SummaryResponsible for safely and efficiently starting and regulating plant processing equipment. The Plant Operator will run and monitor plant operations from a centralized location under the direction of the Plant Manager and Foreman. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor; participate in safety inspections and plant safety program. Responsibilities:Prioritizes SAFETY, then QUALITY, followed by PRODUCTIONWill take an active role in the plant safety initiativesEnsures a safe work environment for self and others at all times.Assist with training of co-workers as neededDaily Pre and Post Inspections of the work areaStarts, monitors, and regulates plant processing equipment within the company guidelines and safety standardsMonitors/Maintains load-out area and operates mobile equipment as neededAides in plant operation and repairs to plant equipmentParticipates in other tasks required by the supervisor Requirements:High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience requiredMust be safety conscious, dependable, motivated, and possess a positive attitude in working with others as a teamMust be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background checkWill take an active role in the plant safety initiativesWilling to cross-train in different areas of production Physical Requirements:Must have hand-eye coordination and vision to safely operate mobile equipmentMust be able to perform duties in a safe manner.  This job requires the ability to wear a hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toed boots, and hearing protectionAble to work outdoors in varying weather conditionsAble to lift 25 poundsWilling and able to use a shovel when requiredWilling to work overtime and weekends as neededAble to work from elevated platformsMust be able to pass pre-employment physical/drug/alcohol test Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Effective coordination and communication skills (written and verbal)Understand team-based managementMechanical knowledgeAbility to handle multiple projects simultaneously AAP/EEO StatementMartin Marietta will provide equal opportunities to all employees and all applicants for employment without discrimination on the basis of race, religion, color, sex, gender, national origin, age, marital status, United States military veteran's status, or mental or physical disability or any other characteristic protected by law. Other DutiesPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
