Purpose of the role

Drives the implementation of the Sanitation, Hygiene and Integrated Pest Management Programs in the Springs Plant factory by providing expert assistance, closing gaps where noted, carrying out assessments to verify the efficiency of implementation and develop action plans for further improvement.

Carry out training, create awareness, motivate staff and drive the Continuous Improvement process in Sanitation, hygiene and Pest Management  

Provides Leadership to the Plant as Senior QFS member to deliver on business priorities linked to Sanitation, hygiene & Pest Management through close partnerships with operations, engineering and warehouse teams

Works closely with regional QFS teams – KWS Quality, Sanitation COP development team to ensure consistency in QFS programs related to Sanitation, Hygiene and Pest management.

Main KPI’s include (but are not limited to): Recall/Withdrawal/inadvertent release, Infestation / Pest related Compl  maint reduction, 7 Core Audit scores, QFS-related write-offs, KWS progression, Sanitation & Pest Management metrics, Adverse Event Management, Out of Standard Conditions and Remediation, EMP, G6 Plant improvement, First Time Pass.

 

A Taste of What You’ll be doing

Lead and support the Site Factory Teams on the implementation of an effective Sanitation and Pest management program in line with business expectations and compliance to Kellogg Standards and policies.

Identify & address the common gaps and drive reapplication of (global/regional) best practices in the Sanitation and Pest Management systems to help drive business performance.  Drive standardization where appropriate leveraging Sanitation Community of practices.

Support the Plant Team to develop and implement an improvement strategic plan based on the Global/AMEA QFS Strategic Plans to provide the business with a competitive edge in line with the Sanitation priorities and programs for Springs

Drive the implementation of the KWS QFS Program taking ownership as subject matter expert for elements linked to Sanitation and Pest Management

Lead improvements to the Pest management program to reduce overall target pest activity trends across site working closely with functional teams and Pest Service provider.

Focus on closure of gaps as identified by facility audits, G6 programs and implement projects and pro-active programs to address any recurring issues.  

Establish frequent and consistent interaction with the functional teams focusing on Sanitation, hygiene and pest management driving communication, compliance, continuous improvement, visibility, and proactive risk assessments.

Collaborate with Operations, Engineering and Contracted cleaning services to ensure efficient and effective implementation of 28*2 cleaning & Fogging cycles with robust verification to drive improvement.

Effectively use cleaning verification programs such as Visual inspection, ATP verification to improve Opsan programs working closely with operations team to build capability, improve cleaning effectiveness.

Ensure Cleaning chemical compliance on site with only approved Food grade chemicals used for food contact surfaces on site with audits done to verify compliance with Safety, Health, Environment department.

Preparation and follow up during the plant maintenance repair and shutdown work to ensure no food safety incidents / Sanitation gaps related to planned work.

Drive MSS Compliance for factory programs with continuous improvement in areas where gaps are noted.

Consult and support during Sanitation / Pest Management related issues or non-conformances including consumer complaints.  

Coach and develop capabilities of Factory teams to support ownership to Sanitation and Pest management programs on-line through shop floor presence linking to the KWS principles of capability building.  

Your Recipe for Success

The individual should have knowledge and ability to understand Hygiene & Sanitation practices, Integrated Pest Management, Microbiology, Cereal Manufacturing, Good Manufacturing Practices, FSSC V6 requirements, AIB inspection standards.  The incumbent should possess leadership and communication skills, and diplomacy that will promote good relations with Operations, Engineering, Service Providers & Management. This individual must be able to function effectively as a functional leader, taking ownership, working in collaboration as a team across shop floor and engaging with top management, with excellent communication skills.

Position requires at minimum a B.S.C or National Diploma in Food Technology/Microbiology/Food Science.

Preferred qualification to include experience at least 5 years minimum experience in FMCG industry specifically on Sanitation/ Hygiene, Pest Management programs, Auditing and inspections, Experienced trainer.  

To effectively perform the duties of this position the incumbent will be required to be objective, systematic, Results focused, strong on problem solving & Root Cause Analysis, ability to train and coach on the line.  

The Incumbent must have the ability to work as part of a diverse team with high standards and interpersonal skills, being able to influence and deliver results through others. Due to the nature of the role working conditions may include extended work schedules dependent on business needs.
