$68,300-$91,000 *Multiple factors, including Individual experience, skills and abilities will determine where an employee is ultimately placed in the pay range. Relocation benefit is also available for this role.

The Job You Will Perform:
This position reports to the Plant General Manager at a Recycling Plant and is a hands-on leadership position responsible for providing direction to first and second shift employees and deliver results on key operational metrics. In addition, the Plant Superintendent is responsible for the following:
Supervising, directing, and coordinating personnel activities related to production Directly supporting the Plant Manager in all aspects of daily plant operations; Assuming all duties and responsibilities of the acting plant manager when needed Interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and assisting in providing appropriate resolutions Administering and reviewing performance evaluations, assisting team leads in supervisory tasks and resolving employee issues Managing performance and development of all hourly employees Supporting, coaching, directing and assisting production leads and plant team members as needed Supporting Recycling HR Team, assisting with job classification/certification, scheduling interviews; Overseeing and recommending employee selection Ensuring quality of work, compliance with applicable federal and state health and environmental regulations; regularly inspecting work in progress and providing direction and support as needed Ensuring the smooth operation of the plant with minimal repetitive issues Providing safety and equipment training Making recommendations for the acquisition of supplies, tools, and equipment while assisting in long range planning for facility and equipment improvements Interacting with plant management to establish production and quality standards Effectively communicating any changes in schedules, production or procedures to all shifts and employees Delivering a consistent safety environment and culture that promotes team member safety Striving for no LIFE injuries by fostering a safety first culture that includes engagement and ownership in the plant Helping to achieve plant financial targets by managing cost and plant S&A cost Providing leadership in transportation, operations, maintenance, and capital expense Ensuring compliance of EHS policies and procedures Driving improvements and enhancements to plant safety programs Conducting plant safety meetings Ensuring plant housekeeping meets established standards through the team Ensuring effective training of plant personnel Driving improvements in operating processes and workflow Developing a working knowledge of P&L statement Leading successful implementations of continuous improvement projects Identifying opportunities to improve plant financial results
The Skills You Will Bring:
Must be 21 years of age Must be authorized to work in the United States Good interpersonal and communication skills Ability to read, write and speak English fluently (Bilingual in Spanish is a highly preferred skill for this position) High School diploma or equivalent Ability to influence and lead all levels of an organization Ability to ensure employees are motivated and productive Ability to maintain accurate records Proven commitment to safety and safety processes Solid analytical skills and problem solving mindset Must be able to work within a team atmosphere and effectively coach for results Excellent managerial and supervisory skills Effective written and oral communication skills Effective interpersonal and leadership skills Effective time management and organization skills Must be able to work various shifts if needed and be able to work nights, weekends, and overtime to cover absences or provide additional support Proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Preferred:
College degree or equivalent education and experience Proficiency in Spanish is a plus Previous supervisory experience At least 5 years of progressive job responsibilities working in a manufacturing environment At least 5 years in a managerial role supervising multiple shifts Experience manufacturing/processing industry Ability to relocate for future career growth opportunities
