About the role
POSITION SUMMARY
Direct, supervise and coordinate all vinegar production and processing activities of the plant operations. Demonstrate leadership in Safety and quality as a top priority. Responsible for the scheduling of vinegar production and quality of the product. Assists with production planning, plant safety, quality, operations training, plant projects, continuous improvement, recordkeeping and benchmarking.
Key responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Oversee and guide managers and employees, which include Vinegar Operators, Loaders, and Maintenance personnel.
Demonstrates leadership in safety. This requires observing and enforcing safety rules and practices, encouraging safe work behaviors, and promptly correcting conditions and unsafe behavior, which may lead to accidents.
Review work schedules and ensure proper staffing is always maintained.
Monitor all activities of plant production, filtration, transfer and storage operations, and schedule activities to fit within plant staffing guidelines and to meet customer and product requirements.
Monitor and oversee all operations to ensure compliance with Plant Quality Assurance programs.
Maintain record keeping in accordance with current quality assurance programs. Continually endorses the Quality Policy and assures conformance to all requirements of the Quality Management System for SQF certification. SQF practitioner/back up.
Work with Plant Manager to monitor inventory levels of all critical raw materials, and ensure that orders are placed in a timely manner.
Perform necessary accounting entries to record production, shipments, and inventory on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
Assist with training of plant personnel in all areas of OSHA compliance, Regulatory compliance, and Kosher product requirements. Some development of training materials and operating manuals is required. Monitor federal, state, and local laws and regulations and ensure facility compliance (in coordination with corporate). Maintain permits, reports and other legal documents related to site legal compliance.
Supervise all plant capital expenditures. Oversee all spending and reporting to corporate.
Assist in developing and maintain site operating budget, product standard cost and other site accounting, as required.
Coordinate with corporate HR department to manage all plant personnel issues.
Essential to be diligent in SAP use, monitoring, and accountability.
Ensure all pumping and production records are properly documented to allow product tracking and recall procedures.
Oversee lab analysis and equipment calibration, as required, to accomplish plant operating objectives. Schedule, coordinate and oversee normal maintenance functions required for the plant.
Strong technical skills and the ability to troubleshoot plant control systems required for job functions and planning and executing plant capital projects.
Familiarity with plant control systems and Enterprise Resource Planning.
Other duties as required and requested by corporate.

Education
A four year college degree in a technical or core business field is preferred. Extensive relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a college degree.
Experience
Two to Five years supervisory experience, preferably in Food Manufacturing.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Computer Skills: Intermediate to proficient in Word, Excel. Some experience in PowerPoint and other software programs is a plus.
SAP experience essential.
Strong basic mathematical skills.
Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems and machinery.
