**Job Posting Details:**
Talen Energy has job openings for Plant Technician-Maintenance. The position will be located at the Brandon Shores Power Plant in Baltimore, MD (Pasadena area). Brandon Shores is a coal fired generating station. The position will report to the Production Supervisor. We are looking for qualified candidates with mechanical maintenance abilities. This position requires industrial rotating equipment mechanical maintenance skills and experience. Machinists and welding skills and abilities are preferred, but not required.
This position will require shift work. Plant Technician-Maintenance will be required to learn plant operational duties and complete operational training qualifications. Plant operational duties will be required as directed.
The expected salary range for this position is $95,000.00 to $105,000.00 annually. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors as permitted by law. Successful candidates will also participate in Talen Energy’s Short-Term Incentive program.

**Primary Purpose & Summary:**
The Plant Technician-Maintenance, installs, troubleshoots, repairs, modifies, overhauls, diagnoses, tests and maintains all power plant equipment and systems. Provides environmental and safety compliance. Ensures compliance with all applicable Federal and State regulations and plant procedures. Keeps all equipment in optimum operating condition. Develops maintenance procedures for plant equipment to ensure consistent and safe operation.
**Responsibilities:**
1. Troubleshoots, repairs and maintains all equipment as required to support plant operations.
2. Uses computerized maintenance management system to maintain and control work order system spare parts inventory and to properly close and document completed work orders.
3. Trains and develops other employees in performing preventive maintenance and routine equipment service activities.
4. Assesses equipment or system problem identification and recommends solutions.
5. Develops maintenance procedures for plant equipment to ensure consistent and safe operation.
6. Ensures that appropriate safety tagging procedures are followed.
7. Assists in requisitioning parts and supplies.
8. Operates, maintains and troubleshoots various types of equipment.
9. Ensures equipment maintenance schedules are adhered to and any malfunctions are reported, documented and addressed.
10. Will be subject to rotating shift work, holiday and weekend work in addition to short overtime notice.
11. Serves as technical liaison between Contract Administrator and contract service provider.
12. Completes all compliance training requirements (NERC, OSHA, Environmental, etc.).

1. Performs job duties safely and adheres to all safety and environmental compliance requirements.
2. Demonstrated ability to complete job assignments in a setting that requires teamwork, as well as independent decision making in an industrial environment.
3. Skills are required in the area of maintenance.
4. Solid communication skills, both verbal and written.
5. Willingness to train in other areas (operations, mechanical, electrical, I&C, etc.).
**Education & Experience Required:**
1. Strong mechanical ability. Machinist and welding skills and abilities are a plus, but not required.
2. Hands on experience with all aspects of power plant mechanical maintenance and a working knowledge of power cycles.
3. Ability to work in a high-performance work system with minimum supervision.
4. Working knowledge of Excel and PC based applications.
5. Over four years of work experience or equivalent combination of formal education/training and experience.
**Licenses/Certifications Required:**
Possession of a valid driver’s license and ability to meet Company driving standards.
**Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:**
Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer, stamina to maintain attention to detail, despite interruptions, vision to read printed materials and a computer screen for long periods of time. Hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the phone. At times, an individual may respond to environmental release situations.

While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to climb stairs, ladders, and work on elevated platforms. Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
Must be willing to travel to other facilities if needed.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color distinction with vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Must be able to work around high voltage.
Must have manual dexterity and ability to manipulate hand tools.
Must be capable of wearing respirators and working in dusty environments.
On occasions employee may be required to work at heights.
**Mental Demands:**
While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to use written and oral communication skills, read and interpret data, information and documents; analyze and solve complex problems, observe and interpret situations, use math and mathematical reasoning; deal with changing, intensive deadlines, and interact with internal and external clients. Must be able to concentrate while under time constraints.
