Plasmids Technician Job Description The Plasmids Technician is responsible for supporting all aspects of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and production in the Clinical Manufacturing Facility (CMF). Working in collaboration with the Manager of GMP and Plasmids Operations and staff, the technician will provide hands-on assistance for all day-to-day Plasmids Core production operations, including execution of production processes, documentation, as well as facility and equipment maintenance. The shift is Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. Responsibilities + Support solution preparation including prep sampling, mini prep, gel making, and lab maintenance. + Anticipate and troubleshoot issues with operations to avoid interruptions in production. + Ensure the availability of materials and proper documentation surrounding GMP activities and product quality. + Operate within the Quality Management System applicable to the manufacture of phase-appropriate material in the CMF. + Maintain compliance with applicable regulatory requirements for cellular and gene therapy products. + Maintain attention to detail in all job functions. + Perform tasks in accordance with established policies, procedures, and techniques, requiring training, common experience, or working knowledge. + Work to specific measurable objectives requiring operational planning skills with minimal direct supervision. + Document all activities performed according to SOPs. + Support GMP resources and supply chain by ordering and maintaining materials inventory to meet production goals. + Support daily operational activities related to the manufacturing of biological products by ensuring the availability of materials with proper documentation. Essential Skills + Knowledge and experience with GMP, cell culture, biology, molecular biology, assay development, microbiology, tissue culture, laboratory practices, and cell biology. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Open to Full-Time or Part-Time candidates. + Prefer candidates with a Bachelor's in Science (or working towards a bachelor's), Associate's in Science, or a High School Diploma with prior lab experience. + Industry experience working with solution preparation is a plus. + Basic knowledge of proper lab safety and protocols. + Prior cell-based experience (either mammalian or eukaryotic cells) is a plus. + Knowledge and understanding of aseptic techniques, cell culture, and liquid separation techniques are preferred. + Must be comfortable occasionally lifting/pushing/pulling 30-45 lbs. Work Environment The culture is very team-oriented, with a diverse group of individuals that is continuing to grow. The technician will be on their feet most of the day and will need to gown up to enter clean rooms. The dress code is casual lab attire (closed-toed shoes, socks covering ankles, khaki pants or jeans with no holes, and shirts with no large graphics). About 50-75% of the time will be spent working in the lab, with approximately 25% spent at a desk doing documentation and report writing.
