Primary Function

To change molds, setup, adjust, stabilize and maintain processes on plastic molding machines and related equipment.

General Quality Responsibilities

All employees are responsible for the quality of their work. If quality standards or expectations cannot be met, the employee responsible for the work is required to notify the supervisor of that area immediately.

Tools & Equipment Plastic Molds, molding machines and auxiliary equipment.Hoists, power lift trucks, mold carts.Cranes, material handling equipment.Vacuum systems, measuring tools and special hand tools.Computer

 

Material

Plastic mold machines, mold lubricant, solvents, nitrogen, oxygen, various types of plastic material and colorants.

Essential Functions:

Requires the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide decimals and fractions; use simple adjustable measuring devices; read simple drawings; interpret production schedules and inspection reports. 

Six months up to and including 2 years.

Requires the ability to plan and perform work when the details are not spelled out, but which fall within recognized methods. Use above average amount of judgment and initiative.

Requires continuous lifting of from 1-5 lbs., or frequent lifting of from 5-35 lbs., or occasional lifting of from 35-60 lbs.

Requires continual attention of a normal degree, or concentrated attention for brief periods.

Probable damage would exceed $5000, but seldom over $10000.

Requires considerable care at least 25% of the work day to prevent lostime injuries to others such as hernia, fractures, serious burns, etc...

Requires intermittent, but regular, instruction of other people, or assigning and coordinating their work.

Somewhat disagreeable working conditions. Usually not more than one objectionable element present at a time.

Accident hazard is high, with exposure at least 25% of the work day to partial disability accidents such as loss of hand, arm, or leg, partial loss of sight, etc..

Training Specifications

Complete all required training.

Essential Functions: Receives oral and written instructions from supervisor/scheduler/Lead PMT and or scheduling software.Obtains molds and equipment from stores.Uses set-up sheets to setup and maintain of all machines assigned.Informs supervisor/QPA when inspection has approved parts for production.Sets up and operates equipment as required.Instructs operators in proper operating methods at the direction of the supervisor.Removes previous setup and returns to proper area.Analyzes and makes necessary adjustments to correct malfunctions such as temperatures and pressuresReports to supervisor or engineer: 1) Any deviation in parts or material, as well as equipment or tool failures. 2) Stays abreast of all jobs running in his area of responsibility to assist the operator in assuring that the setup is maintained and the parts produced are to established quality standards.Will follow and participate with all TPM and 5S practices.Need to work required number of hours determined by department, shift and position.Uses all designated safety equipment, observes all safety rules, and follows recognized rules of safe practice.
