Platform Consultant - Infrastructure

The Red Hat Telecom, Media and Entertainment (TME) group is seeking a Cloud Engineer with a strong background in Platform as a Service (PaaS) technologies to join our Cloud Delivery team for Nokia Cloud Band Infrastructure Software (CBIS)and Nokia Container Services (NCS). We deploy private Cloud Infrastructure to North America and Latin America major telecom customers. We provide high quality services to Red Hat customers around the globe across all Red Hat product lines.  In this role you will be responsible to deploy private Cloud to host complex telecom solutions such as 5G SA Core, VoLTE, vIMS, etc. and work closely with application teams to integrate the solutions into customer networks. What you will do:

Interface with solution architects to define Cloud Infrastructure requirements for deployment and contribute to the High Level Design (HLD) for the Cloud platform.

Interface with network design architect to define Cloud Infrastructure requirements for platform IPs plan.

Develop Method of Procedures (MOP) and Acceptance Test Plan (ATP)

Deploy and integrate Nokia NCS and CBIS Cloud Infrastructure software on baremetal HW platform and Cloud Infrastructure software platform.

Support application teams to onboard applications on the Cloud platform.

Provide knowledge transfer to the Care team for system handover.

Collaborate with other internal teams and external parties during the delivery phase.

Execute ATP with the customer to get project acceptance.

What you will bring:

5+ years of experience as deployment engineer for a Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) provider or hosting service.

5+ years of experience working with Linux or UNIX operating systems.

Hands on experiences with OpenStack and Kubernetes deployment, and with Openshift deployment a plus.

Strong Networking knowledge, Security is a plus.

Ability to multitask, prioritize, work under pressure, and as a team.

Excellent troubleshooting skills and passion for problem solving and investigation.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Required language: English (Must be fluent in speaking, reading, and writing). All communications and documentations are done in English.

Exposure/Experience of Hardware platforms are a plus and include:

HP c7k & other Platforms

DELL HW

Storage Array Management

EMC VNX series hardware

NetApp Eseries hardware knowledge is added advantage.

Nokia Airframe hardware knowledge is added advantage.

Networking relevant skills:

ISO model

TCP/IP

Ability to understand and read network config files.

Understand netmasks, GWs, routes, ospf, static routing, lacp, trunks, vlans, vxlans.

Proxy: familiarity, understand what it is, has ideas to resolve.

Debug routing errors, trace E2E path.

Understand Leaf/Switch topology.

DNS, DHCP, NTP

Certifications preferred:

Kubernetes

RH Open stack, Openshift

RHEL Certified Administrator

Storage certificate HP, EMC, IBM etc
