Platform Data Strategist

We are seeking a talented Platform Data Strategist to join our Data and Analytics team at Marsh McLennan. This role will be based in Chicago. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

In this role, you will contribute to the planning and delivery of a portfolio of data and analytics platform features and use cases, while being part of a transformation effort to elevate the distinctiveness of an industry-leading organization. You will have a global remit, providing opportunities to interact with senior leadership across the world.

We will count on you to:

Drive feature development and use cases on Marsh’s new data and analytics platform.Communicate the data and analytics platform approach and progress within various business domains (e.g., claims, policy management, fiduciary).Develop and communicate best practices for utilizing the data and analytics platform throughout Marsh (e.g., data governance, creation of curated data, sourcing and consumption).Liaise with business and operations leadership to establish a common understanding of users, use cases, status, and priorities for the new data and analytics platform buildout.Drive understanding of relevant initiatives that could improve data platform usage within a region, application, or business domain (e.g., integration of standard reference data)Liaise with transformation office and program management constituents, create content and presentations necessary to surface MDS data and analytics platform activitiesInterface with operations and business leaders, value stream leaders, and regional teams to surface data and analytics platform requirements and featuresCollaborate with Regional Data Leaders and their teams to ensure that global data use cases are effectively utilizing the data platform when applicable and adhering to data and analytics platform standards.Collaborate with peers in other MMC businesses to share best practices, frameworks and tools

What you need to have:

Minimum of 10 years of experience working in a data and analytics organization as a data architecture and engineer, ideally in a consultative role with experience solving data problems using different approaches in various environments.Extensive experience architecting and/or implementing data and analytics solutions for complex, enterprise organizations, with domain expertise in data management and governance.Experience executing data management and integration projects, with a solid understanding of data transformation and management concepts.Ability to decompose a use case into its constituent parts, delivering many incremental winsExperience with Databricks (e.g., medallion architecture, unity catalog, integration patterns)Exceptional written and verbal communication skills leveraging both traditional (e.g. Office; Teams) tools as well as software lifecycle tools (e.g. Azure Dev Ops)Exceptional stakeholders management skills, being able to transform high level requirements into very specific data quality initiativesAbility and willingness to collaborate at all levels of a global organization to ensure the successful implementation of change
