Responsibilities We are looking for a Platform Engineer who is passionate about cloud platforms, integration systems, and modern infrastructure services. The core function of this role is to administer, build, and troubleshoot our cloud-based platforms and workloads. You will leverage a diverse technical background to solve complex problems and develop advanced analytical solutions with minimal oversight. Our distributed business model affords you the ability to support large scale Enterprise platforms, while being engaged in a wide breadth of technologies and projects in a small business atmosphere. KEY RESPONSIBLITIES Manage and support platforms and workloads in our Azure and cloud environments to ensure availability and reliability including Data Integration platforms (FiveTran, Attunity, dbt, Automate), and Data Analytics systems (Tableau) Provide lifecycle and maintenance support of Azure workloads including patching, updating, and ensuring monitoring and alerting services meet business requirements Manage small to medium sized technical projects Works with engineering teams to break down goals into actionable tasks articulated in work breakdown structures with resource allocation and task duration estimates Understand the project management lifecycle. Troubleshoot issues that impact the availability and performance of the platforms and workloads Define and document standards and best practices for all aspects of the administration and management of systems within your responsibility Ensure the security, scalability, and reliability of technology solutions, and address any potential risks or issues that may impact business operations. Assist in the development and documentation of disaster recovery plans, and manage annual testing of the plans Collaborate with the Platform Architect and Decision Science teams to ensure scalability, performance, and capacity are in line with business needs Focus on a quality user experience and demonstrate a high degree of customer service Demonstrate ability to collaborate with team members of different backgrounds, experience, time zones, and working locations Collaborate with IT and business partners to drive strategic initiatives forward Convey complex technical information for diverse audiences Continuously evaluate and improve operational processes to enhance efficiency and reduce risk Remain up-to-date with Azure, data integration, and analytics systems Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university preferred (Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Systems, or other quantitative subject a plus); or 5+ years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience 5+ years of experience with Azure platforms including compute and networking. Certification a plus. 3+ years of experience managing a data analytics platform or other Enterprise data systems Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to distill complex ideas concisely to a variety of audiences. Demonstrate high personal standards of behavior in a professional environment. Demonstrate accountability, competence, and the ability to manage through influence. Strong analytical, logic, and critical thinking skills required. Advanced user in Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint & Visio; must have expert functional knowledge of Excel. Self-directed with a hunger to continually learn and grow. Ability to work on multiple projects, competing priorities, and ensure follow-through on committed deliverables.
