A week in the life of a Lead Platform Engineer: 

Design and implement scalable platform architecture in collaboration with cross-functional teams.  Lead the development and deployment of platform components, services, and applications.  Work closely with developers to streamline code deployment and establish CI/CD pipelines, making environments more consistent and reliable. Optimize performance, security, and cost-effectiveness by evaluating and selecting appropriate technologies and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.  Drive security best practices and troubleshoot complex issues to minimize downtime. Ensure availability and scalability of environments for software teams, focusing on automation, cloud infrastructure, and DevOps practices Performing requirements analysis, requirements gathering, and integration for all platforms  Investigating and resolving operational problems with other engineering and technical personnel Work on project teams responsible for engineering and packaging releases within the customer’s production IT environment Providing direction and guidance to less-experienced Systems Engineers
