This position is the recognized single point of contact for all platform software related technology strategy and planning work related to the current and future software architectures, for all current and future programs. This work falls generally under the category of what is commonly called “Fully Networked Vehicle” or “FNV” and in the future, the Software Defined Vehicle (SDV). This role is responsible for the strategy and plan development for the next generation software platform and the impact to rest of the architecture, culminating in the technical unit papers for future iterations of the software platform. The Platform Software Strategy Manager will work with cross functional teams to analyze the business potential for evolving the in-vehicle software platform targeting greater efficiency, decreased complexity, and increased reuse and portability of the core platform components. **What you'll do...** FNV and SDV assessments will include but are not limited to: + All sensors, cameras, and unknown 3rd party accessories + Infotainment + Driver Assist Technologies + Machine Vision and Artificial Intelligence + Motion, Powertrain, and Chassis Controls + Body Control Module & related body ancillary systems + In-vehicle Cyber Security and Functional Safety + Vehicle Software Platform and related industry standard software protocols + Communication innovations + All vehicle networks including but not limited to CAN, Lin, Ethernet etc. The positions will be required to interface with Research, Product Development, IT, Finance and Vehicle Programs regularly to ensure all technical architecture plans are aligned, appropriate, and achievable.
