Location: Nederland, Colorado

Eldora is the backyard winter mountain playground for Greater Denver, Boulder County, and Colorado's northern Front Range. Eldora is located just outside of the charming mountain town of Nederland, Colorado, about 20 miles west of Boulder and less than 50 miles from downtown Denver.

Eldora strives to deliver Colorado’s Front Range the most memorable outdoor adventures to locals and out-of-town visitors.   Eldora Mountain Resort employs up to 700 employees at peak season and has 680 acres of lift-accessible terrain for skiing and snowboarding, including a Woodward Mountain Park experience, and a world class Nordic Center.

Serve as a conservation/sustainability training ambassador and role model to fellow employees and resort guests while increasing Eldora’s landfill diversion by implementing companywide recycle & composting program.  Work with Food & Beverage, Ski & Ride School, Facilities Maintenance departments and resort guests to ensure waste streams are properly sorted.  

Administration Duties:       

Provide direct support for Eldora’s waste reduction goals by emptying and sorting base area trash, compost and recyclingFocus on proper sorting to ensure compost and recycle streams are clean.Maintain Pour-Away liquid receptacles at sorting stations by regularly emptying and replacing enzyme tabsMaintain Terracycle snack wrapper containers at sorting stations by regularly emptying and mailing full boxes back for processingAdvance Eldora’s recycle programs by assisting Food & Beverage teamEmptying & sorting food scrap compost containers behind kitchen line & prep areasSupply Terracycle disposable glove boxes, replace as needed & mail full boxes back for processingWork with Facilities Maintenance Department to ensure 5-gallon compost containers are emptied on Mondays and Thursdays at Nederland Transfer Station.Work with Ski & Ride School to ensure program waste is properly sorted.Maintain sorting station cleanliness.Provide transport of Ned House recycling to ensure proper processing, as needed.Participate in monthly sustainability “Play Forever” team meetings, when possible.Guest Service Duties:Ensure lodge cleanliness by pre-bussing tables and providing additional guest service, as needed.Provide friendly and helpful interactions with resort guests and serve as a sustainability and conservation ambassador.Educating and training employees and stakeholders on key topics related to resort waste diversion protocol and sustainability.Provide support to resort staff to enable departments to reach waste diversion goals for the season.Support the integration of companywide sustainability “Play Forever” initiative by serving as a knowledge resource and conservation role model.

Compensation: Proposed hiring rate of $18- $20, actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.

Benefits: This is a seasonal position eligible for season pass for employees/dependents and privileges at several other resorts.  Several discount programs (i.e. food & beverage, retail/rental, tickets, etc.) also available.
