Job Description
As a Controls Technician, you will identify and address equipment deficiencies to prevent failures, serve as an internal consultant for maintenance controls, develop solutions for long-term elimination of control deficiencies, and improve overall equipment reliability. You will work with network concepts, modify programming improvements involving PLCs and PCs, and provide technical guidance for hardware, software, electrical, and power transmission control systems. Additionally, you will collaborate with internal and external teams to enhance manufacturing equipment controls, respond to user needs and questions, and ensure maximum uptime on all manufacturing equipment.
ResponsibilitiesIdentify deficiencies in equipment operation and design to prevent equipment failureDevelop solutions for long-term elimination of control deficienciesDevelop alternatives for control equipment replacement, upgrades, or program revisionsModify programming improvements and control systems involving PLCs and PCsProvide technical guidance in modifying hardware, software, electrical, and power transmission control systemsCollaborate with manufacturing engineering teams on equipment control improvementsRespond to shop floor user needs and questions about PLC applicationsCommunicate technical issues and solutions to maintenance and non-maintenance personnelUpdate program backup files and associated documentationPlan, design, and select technical solutions for planned and corrective actionsEnsure maximum uptime on all manufacturing equipmentParticipate in continuous improvement programsMaintain professional technical knowledge through education and professional networksWork extended or flexible hours as neededComply with all IATF policies and proceduresPerform other duties as assignedEssential SkillsHigh school diploma or GED equivalent2-5+ years of related experienceProficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.)Proven problem-solving skillsProven interpersonal and communication skillsExperience in machining componentsBasic math and reading skillsAbility to use standard shop measurement toolsFamiliarity with engineering assembly and component drawings2+ years of experience in electrical engineering and control system designExperience with PLC ladder logic, variable frequency drives, and servo control systemsWorking knowledge of vision systemsAbility to work flexible hoursExperience supporting plant floor systems and applicationsAbility to read logic/flow diagrams for program design and testingAbility to read electrical and mechanical drawings in DIN/ISO standard formatAbility to analyze blueprints and use mathematics for machine drawingsAbility to understand/edit PLC programs (RS Logix 500 and 5000)Ability to troubleshoot Windows PCAdditional Skills & QualificationsExperience with Allen-Bradley and Siemens PLCsWhy Work Here?

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $38.00
