Job Description

We are seeking a PLC Intern located at our facility in Warren, OH.  Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this position will be hands-on, and the candidate selected will have the opportunity to work in our Warren facility. This is a great opportunity to learn the essential duties of PLC Engineering and Robotics.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for managing new and existing projects, including collaboration with integrators, contractors, and vendors.Assists with designing and engineering solutions for assigned projects.Works closely to identify and resolve equipment-related issues at the facility.Engages in programming and troubleshooting PLCs and robotics, specifically: Allen Bradley, Siemens, and Fanuc.Reads and interprets electrical prints and ladder logic.Evaluates manufacturing processes to enhance product quality, process efficiency, and machine reliability.Researches and identifies robotics technology for application on the plant floor.Provides technical assistance and troubleshooting for robotics.Assists in developing new control systems and modifying existing systems.Collaborates with plant production to evaluate and implement process improvements, overseeing projects from concept to completion.Troubleshoots equipment issues, identifies needs for new equipment or modifications to existing equipment to optimize performance and reliability.Maintains records of all plant equipment and modifications, updating files and AutoCAD drawings to ensure accurate documentation.Analyzes data and presents findings in written report form.Leads and promotes healthy and safe work practices as required by regulatory agencies and Company policy.Performs other duties as they might be assigned.Regular, full-time predictable onsite attendance is an essential function of this role.

REQUIREMENTS

Pursuing a bachelor's degree in engineering or related field (Automation, Electrical, Robotics, Mechatronics)Sound decision making ability, computational, and analytical skillsStrong written and verbal communication skillsStrong organizational skills and attention to detailProficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPointAbility to maintain confidentiality of all aspects of job responsibilitiesAbility to travel to Internship Summit, hosted at one of our Zekelman Industries’ locations
