Your Role at KIK
Join our team as a PLC Technician (Monday - Thursday with Overtime as needed (5:00 am - 3:30pm) - where you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance of machinery and equipment. You’ll be a key contributor to the success of our plant. Bring your expertise to a dynamic environment that values efficiency, safety, and continuous improvement. This position has a base salary range of $40.00-$50.00/hourly plus a quarterly incentive bonus.
What You’ll Be Doing
Inspect, test, troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain electrical equipment including but not limited to: motors (all types), starters, breakers, transformers, isolation switches, relays, fuses, resistors, air conditioning, valves, AC Drives, DC Drives, electrical cable, fiber optic cable, coaxial cable, conduit, receptacles, PLCs, heaters, control panels, lights & lighting panels, distributive controls, UPS, fire & emergency alarms, disposal of bulbs and other hazardous material. Inspect, test, troubleshoot, repair, install, calibrate, and maintain instrumentation equipment including but not limited to: transmitters (all types), valves, I/P, positioners, actuators, dampers, flow meters, and level sensors. Complete and prioritize multiple work orders, in support of controls systems, motors, mechanical equipment, PLC programming, etc. Work to effectively troubleshoot technical issues both related to maintenance and in emergency situations; Troubleshooting electrical, motor and control problems. This includes determining if a motor or electrical system, is functioning properly and is configured properly. If there is a problem, determine the proper course of action and safely implement it. Solutions may include taking voltage and amp readings, tracing wiring, evaluating relays, testing motors, evaluating health of wiring, checking breakers and fuses, evaluating sensors and determining the health of overall systems and equipment. Discuss and explain technical issues in a business environment, act professionally during times of equipment breakdown. Utilize MS Windows, Industrial Software and SAP on a daily basis. Cooperatively assist maintenance technicians on shift as needed. Including the performance of mechanical repairs when appropriate.What You’ll Bring
3 or more years of experience in a Manufacturing/Industrial setting experience utilizing troubleshooting & programming PLCs Associate's degree in electronic field and/or Electrical Diploma/Certificate with 3 ore more years of experience OR 5 or more years of proven experience in related field is highly desirable. Proficient with SAP Ability to adapt to rapidly changing business priorities and assignments Ability to train and coach others from technical expertise Ability to use hand tools Results oriented with primary focus on problem definition and generation of alternate solutions. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills of electrical controls systems. Ability to utilize electrical testing equipment (multi-meter, meager, phase finder, etc.) Knowledge of E-Stops and other Safety Circuits Knowledge of NFPA 70 and 70E Knowledge of instrumentation utilizing analog and digital inputs/outputs Ability to configure IP and serial communication ports for all connections to PLC & HMI hardware. Experience with Rockwell software packages including Rockwell, RS Logix 5, 500, 5000, etc. Experience in automated control systems and associated networking configurations (PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, etc.) Ability to read and understand electrical drawings/schematics Understand ladder logic & function block programming, PLC tagging structure and PLC hardware configuration. Understanding of the process flow and associated designs Ability to troubleshoot, test, install and document programs and any associated changes Proper download/retrieval of machine programming. Ability to remove/install pre-calibrated process control instrumentation (Transmitters, Digital Readouts, etc.) Accurate and timely completion of daily paperwork.Physical Requirement:
