Hargrove Engineers and Constructors is looking for a motivated, team player to join our on-site team in Freeport, TX. The PLC Technician would work alongside our client in their mission to create sustainable and emission free equipment used in chemical plants. Ideal candidate will have direct programming experience in a control room.

What You'll Be Doing

Job Scope: 

Create new and update existing preventative maintenance procedures for PLC/SIS and DCS equipment (Foxboro IA or EVO DCS, Allen Bradley(RS Logix and/Studio5000) and Triconex)

Coordinate with contractors, onsite DCS Technicians, PLC Technicians, SIS engineers and Controls Engineers  

Maintain an updated database of all PLC/SIS, DCS computers, 1/0 Hardware, network switches and software for lifecycle/obsolescence monitoring for use in upgrades and project planning.

Coordinate with contractors, onsite DCS Technicians, PLC Technicians, SIS engineers and Controls Engineers for all projects, upgrades, repairs and preventative maintenance procedures.

Coordinate with contractors, onsite DCS Technicians, PLC Technicians, SIS engineers and Controls Engineers for Factory Acceptance Testing and Site Acceptance Testing for all PLC/SIS and DCS system projects/upgrades.

Install, troubleshoot and configure PLC/SIS and DCS computers/servers and network switches (Enterasys and Extreme).

This role will be required to be on-call as maintenance/operational needs arise after hours.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required:

Knowledge and application of the current version of the National Electrical Code (NEC).

Expert working knowledge of Foxboro IA or EVO DCS, Allen Bradley(RS Logix and/Studio5000) and Triconex skillsets.

Ability to perform lighting level calculations.

Ability to size wire, conduit and overcurrent protection for both lighting and power applications.

Ability to perform voltage drop calculations.

Ability to route conduit and cable tray.

Ability to calculate tray and conduit fill.

Ability to determine motor control center loading.

Ability to create accurate electrical installation documents from the information found on vendor equipment drawings.

Knowledge and understanding of schedule constraints and information requirements for the production of all electrical deliverables.

Ability to develop a construction cost estimate, a detailed engineering schedule and a man-hour budget for a small project or an area for a larger project.

Ability to determine construction material quantities.

Working knowledge of CAD software, either AutoCAD, Microstation or both.

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Good presentation skills.

Ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time
