Perform systems management and integration functions. Newport News Shipbuilding, division of Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII-NNS) is seeking a Delivery Owner that has functional knowledge of large data sets interfacing into the Siemens Teamcenter Software. We are looking for a seasoned Systems Engineer interested in designing and building information systems to support construction of some of the largest and most complex products in the world. Our IT systems process information across Engineering, Planning, Operations and Manufacturing. We are the sole designer and builder of U.S. Navy Aircraft Carriers and one of two providers of U.S. Navy Submarines. Delivery Owner Responsibilities: Collaborates with the Product Team: Continually matures the story backlog and ensures the delivery team does not get blocked or surprised and works closely with the Delivery Team to ensure user stories are refined and available for sprint planning. Why this is important: The Delivery Owner is the voice of the Portfolio Owner and Product Owner within the Delivery Team to ensure there is shared understanding of the problem being solved by the Epic and the Solution described in the Feature Activities and Interactions: Attend relevant Planning meetings Support Delivery Team with any functional questions during story development Ensures knowledge and experiences of the Delivery Team are communicated to the Product and Portfolio Teams Advise for any RIDAs (Risks, Impediments, Dependencies, Assumptions) Deliverables: Stories that are crafted with an understanding of the solution What Success looks like: The user stories are under the highest priory Epics and Features being sequenced for upcoming sprints Highest priority user stories are ready to be committed by the team Three to five sprints worth of ready backlog are prioritized for the team to work. **Must Have** Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of relevant exempt experience; Master?s Degree and 3 years of relevant professional experience; Ph.D. and 0 years of experience. One of the following may be used as an equivalent to Bachelor's Degree for Information Technology Related Positions Only: + NNS Apprentice School graduate + Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate + Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience + Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience + High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience + High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience + A relevant professional certification can be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree. **Nice to Have** Critical Skills Entering Position: • Experience working in agile software development or SAFe • Working with large sets of data with a good understanding of data configuration management • Demonstrated performance under high pressure situations • Demonstrated written/oral communication and teaming skills • Ability to execute with minimal management oversight • Technical leadership charisma to build trust with internal and external team members Understanding APIs and data transfer mechanisms • Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment experience in the PLM space • Unit / Regression test automation experience • In-depth understanding of Siemens Toolset, including Teamcenter **Why HII** We build the world’s most powerful, survivable naval ships and defense technology solutions that safeguard our seas, sky, land, space and cyber.
