Job Title: PLS-CADD Designer
Job Description

We are currently seeking a PLS-CADD Designer to support our Transmission and Distribution business. This position will provide design and analysis for transmission (HV & EHV) and distribution, using PLS-CADD. The PLS-CADD Designer will be involved in design activities, including quality reviews, monitoring and maintenance of project schedules, reporting changes that affect the schedule and budget, identifying risks that may affect schedule and costs, and presenting opportunities to improve the design and construction of transmission and distribution projects.

ResponsibilitiesTransmission and Distribution Pole Analysis, using PLS-CADD and PoleForeman.Transmission and Distribution Design, including system design calculations.Apply NESC, NEC, ASCE and other applicable standards in the engineering and design of electrical overhead, voltage conversion projects, new capacity projects, and infrastructure replacement projects.Prepare design sketches, drawings, cost estimates, bills of material, and any other required documents for construction.Prepare and oversee preparation of design documents for construction, including plan and profiles, structure loadings, design details, trench and conduit drawings, and equipment specifications.Communicate with clients and engineers on system requirements, and identify Right of Way for proposed equipment.Acquire field data as necessary, and work with field surveying to prepare appropriate design.Promote and perform quality reviews of designs to ensure design quality, compliance with client design standards, safety requirements, and good industry practices.Mentor junior staff.Serve as a Subject Matter Expert for PLS-CADD.Essential Skills5+ years of experience in PLS-CADD design and analysis for distribution or transmission.Experience with Transmission and Distribution Pole Analysis, using PLS-CADD and PoleForeman.Knowledge of NESC, NEC, ASCE, and other applicable standards.Experience in electrical design using Microstation or AutoCAD.Associate degree in applied science (AAS) in drafting and computer-aided (CAD) design or in civil, electrical, or mechanical engineering technology, or equivalent experience and/or education.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in preparing design sketches, drawings, cost estimates, and bills of material.Ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members.Mentorship experience is preferred.Work Environment

Qualified candidates may work fully remote (must reside in the U.S. only). The office environment includes a dedicated leadership team, an engaged team, and a new 19,000 sq. ft. office space equipped with a foosball table and shuffleboard. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $53.00/hr.
