Job Overview Assist with the repair and maintenance of various mechanical systems, including plumbing, controls, heating and refrigeration and follows accepted practices and procedures. Responsible for the repair and maintenance of applicable patient care equipment to provide a safe environment for patients and assure compliance with the standards of the various regulatory agencies. Gains a thorough working knowledge of the major systems within the hospital and can operate them safely and efficiently and troubleshoots problems so they can be remedied with a minimum of down time and disruption of service. Demonstrates the ability to use blueprints, schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot and isolate problems. Assists with scheduled preventative maintenance on fans, motors, belts, HVAC systems, steam, water, sewer, air and vacuum lines regularly and according to predetermined schedules. Maintains all documentation required by department, hospital and regulatory agencies in a clear, organized manner. Completes and turns in required documentation i.e. work logs and check lists. Requests additional help from department leadership when necessary. Organization Expectations, as applicable: Demonstrates ability to provide care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences of population served. Partners with patient care giver in care/decision making. Communicates in a respective manner. Ensures a safe, secure environment. Individualizes plan of care to meet patient needs. Modifies clinical interventions based on population served. Provides patient education based on as assessment of learning needs of patient/care giver. Fulfills all organizational requirements. Completes all required learning relevant to the role. Complies with and maintains knowledge of all relevant laws, regulation, policies, procedures and standards. Fosters a culture of improvement, efficiency and innovative thinking. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications to Fulfill Job Responsibilities: Credentials: Designate licensure, registration and/or certification requirements. Required credentials should be listed first.
