Job Description
We are looking for skilled plumbers who are well-versed in underground, new construction work, and fixtures. You will be working with cast iron pipes, no hub, and installing a drain waste and vent system. You must be able to cut and thread pipes, read blueprints/specifications, and be proficient in rough-ins and finish or trim out work. This role involves new construction and renovation experience in large commercial construction, particularly with domestic water and sanitary systems.
ResponsibilitiesWork with cast iron pipes, no hub, and install a drain waste and vent system.Cut and thread pipes as required.Read and interpret blueprints/specifications.Perform rough-ins for both above ground and underground installations, including vents, sewers, connections, and waterlines.Conduct finish or trim out work, including adding hardware such as toilets and sinks.Install CPVC, PVC, and water lines.Install fixtures, hangers, and pipes.Repair pipes, fittings, or fixtures of heating, water, or drainage systems according to specifications or plumbing codes.Measure, cut, thread, or bend pipes to the required angle using appropriate tools and machines.Essential SkillsMinimum 5 years of experience in plumbing.Proficiency in plumbing, mechanical, piping, installation, and reading blueprints.Ability to work with PVC, Copper, PEX, and cast iron.Experience in brazing and soldering.Ability to install and repair pipes, fittings, or fixtures of heating, water, or drainage systems.Must have basic hand tools.
This opportunity is with a mid-sized mechanical contractor in the Sarasota area that is rapidly growing. With a parent company that has been in business since the 80s, there is a strong focus on commercial, institutional, and hospitality projects. With 27 projects in backlog, we offer 40+ hours a week and a contract-to-hire opportunity.
Work Environment
You will be working on a new construction site for a restaurant in Clearwater. The job requires comfort working in the elements and alongside other contractors. The work schedule is Monday to Friday with four 10-hour shifts and two 8-hour shifts. There may be some opportunities for overtime.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $30.00
