**Job Title: Plumber** **Job Description** Plumbers must be well-versed in underground work, new construction, and fixture installation. You will work with cast iron pipes, no hub pipes, and install drain waste and vent systems. You must be able to cut and thread pipes and read blueprints/specifications. Plumbers should be proficient in rough-ins, both above ground and underground, and in finishing or trimming out, where the installation and connections are completed and ready for use, including adding hardware such as toilets and sinks. **Responsibilities** + Work with cast iron pipe, no hub, and install drain waste and vent systems. + Cut and thread pipes. + Read and interpret blueprints/specifications. + Perform rough-ins above ground and underground, installing vents, sewers, connections, and waterlines. + Finish installations and connections, adding hardware such as toilets and sinks. + Currently in the second rough, working on CPVC, PVC, and installing water lines. + New construction and renovation experience in large commercial construction. + Experience with domestic water and sanitary systems. + Install fixtures, hangers, and pipes. + Install, repair pipes, fittings, or fixtures of heating, water, or drainage systems according to specifications or plumbing codes. + Measure, cut, thread, or bend pipes to the required angle using appropriate tools and machinery. + Study building plans and inspect structures to assess material and equipment needs, establish the sequence of pipe installations, and plan installation. + Locate and mark the position of pipe installations, connections, passage holes, or fixtures in structures using measuring instruments such as rulers or levels. + Fill pipes or plumbing fixtures with water or air and observe pressure gauges to detect and locate leaks. + Assemble pipe sections, tubing, or fittings using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, plastic solvent, caulking, or soldering, brazing, or welding equipment. + Install pipe assemblies, fittings, valves, appliances such as dishwashers or water heaters, sinks, and toilets. + Direct helpers engaged in pipe cutting, preassembly, or installation of plumbing systems or components. + Install underground storm, sanitary, or water piping systems, extending piping as needed to connect fixtures and plumbing. + Maintain or repair plumbing by replacing defective washers, replacing or mending broken pipes, or opening clogged drains. **Essential Skills** + Minimum 5 years of experience in plumbing (consideration for lower pay rate with 3-4 years of experience). + Experience in new construction and renovation in large commercial construction. + Proficiency with domestic water and sanitary systems. + Ability to install fixtures, hangers, and pipes. + Basic hand tools are required. + Ability to install and repair pipes, fittings, or fixtures of heating, water, or drainage systems according to specifications or plumbing codes. + Ability to measure, cut, thread, or bend pipes to required angles using appropriate tools and machinery. + Ability to read and interpret blueprints/specifications. + Ability to study building plans and inspect structures to assess material and equipment needs. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience in brazing and soldering. + Med gas certification. + Ability to lead and direct helpers in pipe cutting, preassembly, or installation of plumbing systems or components. **Why Work Here?** Our client is one of the largest mechanical contractors in the state, providing stable hours, lots of backlog, and opportunities for growth. **Work Environment** Work is scheduled from Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with some weekends as needed. The job site is a new construction hospital, where you will be working in the elements for approximately 8 months. You must have your own tools and PPE. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
