Plumbers are required to be knowledgeable in all facets of plumbing systems including: sanitary waste and vents, lab waste, and vents, water distribution, natural gas, medical gasses, de-ionized water, and backflow prevention. Must be able to work unsupervised plus perform the job required in a timely and craftsman like fashion. Maintains the plumbing systems in all buildings at the University under senior management's jurisdiction. There are times when renovation work is required along with new installations. Emergency situations do arise and the plumber must respond immediately. Must be able to work in adverse conditions. These conditions can include confined spaces, extreme heights, damp and humid areas, as well as hot or cold conditions.
