ChristianaCare is looking for a full-time Plumber in Elkton Maryland to install, maintain and repair primary and sub-plumbing systems, including medical gas, domestic hot and cold water, and waste systems.

Duties and Responsibilities:Installs, repairs, and maintains plumbing sub-systems and equipment.Repairs and installs primary plumbing systems and medical gas piping.Performs preventative maintenance on facility systems and equipment.Checks water pressure and temperature.Troubleshoots problems on plumbing systems.Responds, coordinates and repairs water events with contractors and staffing.Coordinates damages of building envelope systems with contractors ensuring watertight systems.Documents all repairs within Computerized Maintenance Management System.Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices.Reports to supervisor, in a timely manner, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients and visitors.Performs other related duties as required.Hours: 7:30 AM to 4:00 PMEducation and Experience Requirements:High school graduate or equivalentFour years Trade schoolFour years relevant Plumbing experience and must possess one of the following:Journeyman certificateMaster Plumber licenseMinimum 5 years Military experience within a Plumbing Role (must provide DD214 with resume)Hospital experience preferredSpecial requirements:

Acquire ASSE 6010 Medical Gas Installer Certification within one year of hire date.

Acquire ASSE 5000 series Cross-connection Control Certifications within six months of hire date.

Physical demands:

Bending, lifting, reaching, climbing ladders and scaffolding. Working overhead and in cramped spaces.

Working conditions:

Exposure to oils, grease, hot surfaces, chemical fumes, soot, dust, dirt, extreme heat, cold and noise.

Exposure to burns, scalds, eye, ear hazards and falls. Exposure to cramped and confined areas and danger of infection. Exposure to open sewers.
