Required Qualifications: Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications to meet the requirements of the position.
+ Valid Texas Journeyman [or higher] Plumber License.
+ Plumbing experience & knowledge of all plumbing codes and laws, including safety procedures and regulations.
+ Experience working independently and as part of a team troubleshooting and correcting plumbing challenges, including emergency responses.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Previous employment experience as a plumber (or equivalent) in government and/or higher education environment.
+ Ability to effectively utilize blueprints and schematics.
+ Proficiency managing work orders using a portable electronic tablet/device.
+ Use of AiM and SAP .
Job Description
Responsible for repairing, replacing, or maintaining assorted plumbing, sewer and related fixtures in good operating condition.
Job Duties
The Plumber II position is a journey-level position. Work performed includes performing all plumbing work assignments, including PMs, related to sinks, commodes, urinals, lavatories, showers, bathtubs, floor drains, water lines, and sewers. Exercises prudent, independent judgment on projects without direct supervision.
Additional Information to Applicants
+ Must be available and willing to work after-hours on-call duty, on a rotating basis, with other shop personnel.
+ This position requires driving University vehicles.
