Job Description

A commercial building is looking for a full-time Plumber to perform Preventive Maintenance (PM) on plumbing building systems and fixtures, and other maintenance tasks that may be assigned.

ResponsibilitiesPerform basic building maintenance of plumbing systems and fixtures at a government commercial office building.Perform minor preventive maintenance functions of plumbing systems and fixtures, including backflow preventers and stormwater management systems.Maintain and respond to service requests as needed under the guidance of the PM, Chief Engineer, or Supervisor.Use a variety of power and hand tools to perform job functions.Perform emergency repairs and be available for after-hour and weekend repairs.Work effectively with the customer, building tenants, and other team members.Troubleshoot and complete work orders assigned in a timely manner.Read blueprints and generate design concepts using available tools.Operate basic office equipment including cell phones, tablets, telephones, fax machines, and copy scanners.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh School diploma or equivalent (at a minimum).Journeyman Plumber License (must be maintained for continued employment).OSHA 30 certification desired.An existing HSPD-12 Determination for Work is desired.

Work Environment

Commercial Building downtown Kansas City. Climate-controlled and clean environment. This is a federal building with airport-level security. Hours are 6am - 2:30pm M-F. or 8am-4:30pm M-F

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $76544.00 - $76544.00

This is a Union position, so all benefits will be through the Union (listed below). Outside of benefits, the work environment is clean, climate controlled, and safe.

While the Union would share the CBA with the individuals, here are some highlights on Union benefits:
•\tOvertime pay at 1.5x regular pay for over 8 hours daily or 40 hours weekly, including paid time off
•\t10–20 days of vacation based on tenure, with options for hourly increments and payout upon separation
•\tEleven paid holidays with triple pay for worked holidays
•\tSeven sick days annually (56 hours), prorated for new hires
•\tEmployer-provided uniforms and safety equipment, including annual boot allowances and a winter coat every three years
•\tContributions to the Local 101 Health and Welfare plan, capped at $8.70/hour (max 40 hours/week)
•\tHealth & Welfare is inclusive of life, dental, and major medical insurance
•\tEmployer contributions to a Central Pension Fund, starting at $5.00/hour in 2025
•\tVoluntary 401(k) participation with pre-tax contributions available.
