Job Summary:

Plans, assembles, installs, maintains and repair plumbing systems as well as steam, compressed air, oxygen, vacuum lines, etc. throughout the hospital complex and adjunct facilities.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintains existing water, gas, air, steam and other utilities in proper working condition.Completes work orders, and maintains records of time spent on each job. Completes documentation of preventive maintenance and work orders on a daily basis. Uses verbal and written feedback to keep peers and team members informed of progress and problems.Complies with safety policies and regulations and ensures safety practices for patients, staff, and visitors and attends mandatory safety in-services and safety competence assessments. Complies with regulatory, accreditation, hospital and department policies and procedures.Provides support during various codes and/or emergencies.

Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.

Performs other duties as assigned.


EDUCATION

High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience


EXPERIENCE

Two years' experience required in Missouri and Illinois

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Constant standing and walking.Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.Frequent reaching, gripping and keyboard use/data entry.Frequent use of vision for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more).Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.Occasional bending, stooping, climbing, crawling, kneeling, sitting, squatting, twisting and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.Occasional use of vision to judge distances and spatial relationships and to identify and distinguish colors.Rare use of smell to detect/recognize odors.Rare driving.
