Our Architecture and Building Engineering Group is seeking a motivated Supervisor for their Plumbing and Fire Protection unit. We are looking for an effective leader with strong problem solving skills who is passionate about mentor-ship. This role may sit in any of these locations: Madison, WI; Milwaukee, WI; Chicago, IL; Tampa, FL; Dallas, TX; Green Bay,WI; Minneapolis, MN. Responsibilities for this role include: Providing leadership and support to the team to ensure department policies and procedures are followed Overseeing team production and ensures quality control measures are taken on all technical work Supports business development activities Reviewing and approving staff time-sheets and expense reports Mentoring staff and providing professional development opportunities Coordinating staff resources and workload with other managers Coordinating with HR and leadership to grow the team and/or skill-sets Working with the Department Manager regarding strategic planning related to growth and development of the team. Some travel may be required. The successful candidate must have a combination of education and/or experience totaling 7 years of relevant experience: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, plumbing, or architectural engineering (or relevant degree) plus 3 years of experience; OR associate degree in mechanical, or architectural engineering (or relevant degree) plus 5 years of experience; OR no degree plus 7 years of relevant experience The ideal candidate will have experience with any/all of the following: 12+ years of relevant experience strongly preferred PE License in any state with the ability to obtain in other states strongly preferred Prior Supervisory experience a plus Designing plumbing systems for building projects Designing fire protection systems for building projects Managing projects and providing technical oversight Leading a team and managing workload Mentoring project staff Business development tasks (client relationships and proposal development) At Mead & Hunt we shape the future by putting people first.
