Overview:
The Talent Acquisition Manager will assist the Director of Recruitment, Recruitment Manager, and EOPSS Secretariat Diversity Director, in establishing the Talent Acquisition function as a strategic partner with the Department of Correction Agency Leadership. The TA Manager will specifically work on improving the efficiency, effectiveness, and experience of the hiring process, coaching and mentoring staff, developing strong applicant sources and serving as a valuable brand ambassador as we seek new talent for our organization.
Duties:
Provides technical assistance to the Director of Recruitment, Recruitment Manager, EOPSS Secretariat Diversity Director, and other agency personnel concerning recruitment methods, retention, and programs. Performs related duties such as data analysis of recruitment trends and suggests measures to increase the agency recruitment initiative. Performs monthly data analysis and identifies gaps related to the agency-protected categories. Recruits’ candidates for civil service and non-civil service employment and participates in the agency interview process. Liaison to the Diversity Director at the Executive Office of Public Safety, planning and coordinating activities to publicize job opportunities and determining the methods and procedures to be followed in recruitment programs to obtain a pool of qualified job applicants. Build and foster relationships with community stakeholders to build candidate pipelines. Ability to explain career growth within the DOC by understanding of the 12-week correctional academy program and the various roles within the Department of Correction and specialized units as well as understanding the prescreening process for correctional officers and be able to explain this to potential candidates as well as contracts, pensions, and internal transfers. Refers applicants to hiring managers and ODEO staff for employment by matching applicants' qualifications with job requirements by conducting searches of applicant resumes, interviewing applicants to obtain information about job skills and career goals and reviewing applicant and job information to find similarities. Performs other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:
Must have strong written and verbal communication skills essential for effectively interacting with candidates, hiring managers and staff. Strong interpersonal skills to network in the community and build relationships with candidates. Ability to manage multiple tasks, exercise time management skills, maintain accurate records in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook Email, Microsoft Excel and knowledgeable with social media platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram etc. Ability to review data, resumes, job postings and determine the applicability to make appropriate recommendations and exercise sound judgment and decision making.
