About the Role

The Security Officer is a vital member of the Security Team who is responsible for providing a safe and secure environment for the employees and in which guests can relax and/or conduct business. This department establishes, promotes and maintains the hotel’s security and property protection. The Security Team is available 24-hours a day.  The Security Officer actively participates in the day-to-day security operations of the property to ensure the safety and security of all guests, personnel and property.

We are looking for individuals who are skilled problem solvers with a high attention to detail and a high sense of ethics and honesty The Security Officer position involves a large amount of contact with guests, local law enforcement and other hotel personal and excellent personal presentation and interpersonal skills are required.

 

What you will do

•    Patrol the interior and exterior of the hotel and confront any situations or persons that require investigation. Monitor the Closed Circuit Television (CCTV).

•    Conduct V.I.P. escorts and assist handicapped guests.

•    Handle and document guest and employee accidents, guest room lock problems, noise complaints, and any questionable individuals on the premises.

•    Assist in implementing preventive safety and security programs and training related to the hotel's emergency procedures.

•    Respond to worker injuries and train on preventative measures for injury prevention.

•    Investigate crimes committed against the hotel, guests, and employees. Document all incidents occurring in the hotel in connection with crime, subversions, potential liabilities and insurance requirements. 

•    Assist hotel staff in handling of unusual guest or employee problems, such as, but not limited to, disorderly conduct, thefts, suicides, bomb threats, employee or guest accidents, fire or safety hazards, robberies, terrorist activities, civil disturbance, power or elevator failures, medical assistance and natural disasters.

•    Respond properly in any hotel emergency or safety situation.

What you bring

•    At least 2 years of security detail experience, preferably in a luxury hotel or resort.

•    Excellent personal presentation and interpersonal skills.

•    CPR and First-Aid certification.

•    Strong time management skills: ability to multi-task, set priorities, and adjust to changing conditions. Willing to work in a fast-paced environment.

•    Ability to operate all computer equipment necessary to perform the job; knowledge of Opera, Microsoft Office Suite, and HotSOS preferred/is a plus.

•    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work closely with other departments and communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues and guests.

•    Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs.

Schedule and Hours

·   This is a full-time position.

·   Candidate must be available to work primarily nights (After 3 p.m.)
