Job Description

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented PMC Mechanical Lead Engineer to oversee and manage mechanical engineering activities for a high-profile Oil & Gas pipeline construction project in Abu Dhabi. The Mechanical Lead Engineer will ensure that all mechanical designs, installations, and operations comply with project specifications, international standards, and safety regulations. This role requires technical expertise, leadership skills, and extensive experience in mechanical engineering for large-scale projects.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage all mechanical engineering activities, ensuring designs and deliverables comply with project requirements and international standards.Develop, review, and approve mechanical design documentation, including equipment specifications, data sheets, and technical reports.Oversee the selection, evaluation, and procurement of mechanical equipment to ensure suitability for the project.Provide technical input and solutions to resolve mechanical design and installation challenges.Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integration of mechanical systems into the overall project design.Monitor contractor and subcontractor performance to ensure compliance with project specifications and timelines.Support the resolution of technical queries (TQ) and manage changes to mechanical designs as required.Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure mechanical installations meet design intent and safety requirements.Ensure compliance with HSE standards and regulations in all mechanical engineering activities.Mentor and guide junior engineers, promoting technical excellence and professional growth.

QualificationsEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.Experience:12-15 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on Oil & Gas or large-scale pipeline construction projects.Proven experience in a PMC environment is highly desirable.Skills:Proficiency in mechanical design software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CAESAR II).Strong knowledge of international codes and standards related to mechanical engineering (e.g., ASME, API, ISO).Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.Strong leadership and communication skills for effective team management and stakeholder engagement.Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced project environment.
