HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT

Responsible for planning, leading, and managing multiple small, medium, and large projects (or one large program) from initiation to implementation. Typically manages projects that are longer than one (1) year in duration [or less time with aggressive timelines and/or higher profile, often have higher risk, sub-projects, moderately-defined scope, and include complexity of fifteen (15) to thirty-five (35) project team members, and a project budget greater than one million dollars ($1,000,000). Performs all duties of a PMO/Project Manager I with the additional responsibility of leading and directing priority projects, which often requires considerable resources and higher levels of functional integration. Leads cross-functional teams and works with PMO/Business Analysts and other organizational service partners to determine and translate business requirements into solutions. Manages all aspects of the scopes, schedules, budgets, risks, and communications for the projects assigned, including change requests and issue management to ensure that maximum benefits are maintained. Interfaces directly with project sponsors and organizational leadership associated with individual projects. Assists with developing business plans and/or funding requests.

Required Education:

Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in project management, management, business administration, public administration, or systems management required; master’s degree in project management, management, business administration, public administration, or systems management preferred. Human Resources (HR) may substitute experience on a 1:1 basis for the required education. Experience credited in lieu of education will not be applied toward minimum experience requirements

 

Required Experience:

Five (5) years of project management experience required; seven (7) years of project management experience preferred: Experience with Microsoft Office Suite of products. Experience working both collaboratively and independently. Experience facilitating meetings with all levels of stakeholders (end users to executive staff). Experience in personnel management. Preferred qualifications: Awareness of risk response techniques. Knowledge of organizational compliance practices. Knowledge of “Lean” and other quality and efficiency models. Excellent communication skills (oral, written, meeting facilitation, and presentation skills). Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. Skilled in various types of contract review processes. Capable of reading and understanding different communication styles from a broad spectrum of disciplines. Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. Ability to delegate and assign tasks to appropriate individuals. Ability to maintain a team remotely/virtually. Ability to conform to changing priorities, demands, and timelines. Demonstrates high ethics and values. Detail-oriented. Efficient time manager. Emotional intelligence and cultural sensitivity. Creative and innovative thinker.

 

Required Certification/License/Registry:

Project Management Institute’s (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP) (or equivalent) certification required within one (1) year of hire
