PMT Engineer

GSR 8 preferred position in Feature and SW integration as a PMT engineer supporting FSIM and PMT leaders. This position Interfaces between program and engineering teams to deliver vehicle milestones on time and with quality.

You'll have...

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science or related field 5+ years of automotive PMT, Program Management, Design & Release, Software Development, and/or EE Systems Integration. 

Even better, you may have...

Masters degree Outstanding organizational/delegation skills with proactive follow-up to accomplish multiple parallel objectives in timely fashion. Demonstrated ability to work well with others as part of a multi-functional team. Experience using MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Webex, SharePoint.

What you'll do…

Lead the Vehicle Electrical/Embedded Software Team through engineering gateways and launch phases from pre-program through Ok to Buy, acting as on-site, single point of contact between Design/Release, Program, Finance, Quality, Software, Attribute, PMT’s, STA, VO, and NML teams. Work with the Engineering D&R / Software Teams to ensure all work in support of Program content is completed on time, with quality. Manage functional content alignment within program objectives. Make sure all ECU hardware and software is sourced, released, validated and delivered in support of program timing. Review and ensure BOM accuracy and completeness. Manage changes via the Ford WERS and SW Change Control processes. Support the DV process by facilitating requirement classification, test planning, vehicle requests and availability, and on-time and accurate reporting of test results. Provide build site support for prototype, pre-launch, and launch build phases. Serve as the single point of contact between the Vehicle Electrical/Embedded Software Team and the Prototype Build and Launch Teams. Assist with on-time part deliveries, resolve functional and build issues, sign off parts and vehicles. Lead ECU part and vehicle updates for all preproduction builds under Alert (both software reflash and physical) at the build site. Work with D&R Engineers, suppliers, New Models, MP&L, and other stakeholders to organize and lead SW and HW update events. Ensure all required part and vehicle updates are completed on time and with quality, in support of build timing. Identify, communicate, track, and drive root cause analysis, corrective actions and prevent recurrence for engineering issues from all sources, using Ford issue management systems such as AIMS and Jira, in an efficient and timely fashion. Keep Ford Management advised of status and help needed. Represent the Electrical/Embedded Software Team in Program and Vehicle Operations forums (e.g. PST, CNE DF, Change Control, Milestone reviews, Design reviews, Whiteboard, Launch start-up, Hard Rocks, AIMs, Jira, Pedigree reviews, etc.). Also, organize, lead and follow-up issue- or deliverable-specific meetings.
