Poker Board Representative

Note  This Position Will Be Housed At The White Tanks Casino In Waddell Az, The Selected Candidate Will Be Required To Also Work Out Of The Desert Diamond West Valley Location (9431 W Northern Ave, Glendale, Az 85305).

Position Summary

Under direct supervision of the Poker Floor Supervisor, provides a warm friendly immediate greeting to guests. Seats, and sells chips to players.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Responsible for coordinating the timely seating of poker patrons by reservation and exchanging currency into gaming cheques while working in the Poker Room in order to assist in reaching profitability, guest satisfaction, and workforce strength and compliance goals.Maintains a professional, friendly and courteous atmosphere providing the guest with a pleasant experience.Handles guest requests and notifying management of pertinent information.Handles incoming phone calls.Greets and seats guests when they arrive.Facilitates table changes when guests request them.Verifies and logs guest play hours for poker suite rates.Makes appropriate guest announcements, regarding promotions, new games, seating guests, or other pertinent information.Maintains must-move lists and facilitates guest movement in must-move games.Handles guest lists and seating for all Poker games.Assists guests when necessary.Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.Provides encouragement, sets high expectations, and sets proud and positive examples necessary to ensure a fun, exciting and professional working environment for our staff and a pleasant and entertaining experience for our guests.Operates computerized and/or manual poker seating reservation system.Accepts new applications into the player’s card program.Assists in coordinating general requests from guests and players within the poker room with various departments, including basic host functions.Assists in coordinating poker tournaments and other special events within the poker room.Maintains familiarity with company activities and events and responds to customer inquiries.Provides superior customer service in accordance with Company standards.Assists in the handling of all guest related matters with positive outcomes on disagreements in a consistent, professional manner to ensure return visits.May be required to perform duties outside of normal job description where, in the Company's judgment, it is necessary in the interest of efficiency, productivity, or improved guest services.Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Education And Experience

High School Diploma or GED required, plus 1 year prior casino experience in a Poker room preferred. Must be 18 years of age or older. No felony, theft or stealing convictions. Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen, background investigation, obtain and maintain a gaming license and to include the following:

Knowledge, Abilities, Skills, And Certifications

Extensive Knowledge and practice of all Title 31 requirements.Knowledge of Poker techniques.Knowledge of business English, proper spelling, grammar, punctuation, and basic arithmetic.Knowledge of guest service procedures.Ability to make financial transactions quickly and accurately.Ability to communicate, read, and write clearly in Basic English.Ability to demonstrate outstanding guest service at all times.Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds and with team members at all levels.Ability to maintain confidentiality.Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.Ability to carry out instructions furnished in verbal or written format.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Ability to continually seek improvement in results.Skill in operating business computers and office machines.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the team member regularly is required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The team member frequently is required to walk. The team member occasionally is required to stand; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The team member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Work Environment

Work is generally performed in a casino setting with exposure to second-hand smoke and a high noise level. Evenings, graveyards, holidays and/or weekend work may be required. Extended hours and irregular shifts may be required.
