Posting Number NONAC3434 Job Title Police Sergeant Position Title Police Sergeant Position Type Non-Faculty Number of vacancies 1 Salary $60,806.98 Department Public Safety Position Summary Positions in this job family provide direction and support for campus law enforcement and security services. This job family may include the performance of sworn law enforcement duties; other positions enforce campus rules and regulations to ensure order, safety, and security. + Review the performance of the patrol officers and provides daily supervision on operational procedures including law enforcement, emergency operations, and service provisions. + Instructs, coordinates and maintains training for all officers on the assigned shift. + Reviews and approves daily, written incident reports regarding crimes and services for accuracy. + Evaluates the strengths and opportunities of the patrol officer to determine training needs and performance evaluation purposes. + Ensures necessary training related to Safety Procedures, Hazmat, Right to Know, Blood borne Pathogens, and traffic directions. + Maintains a passing proficiency score for carrying and using department firearms. Minimum Qualifications + Education: 2 years of college education or Associate’s Degree. Must have current certification by the state of Georgia P.O.S.T. as a Peace Officer. Must have a valid Driver’s License and an insurable driving record. + Experience: 3 – 4 years of related experience. In lieu of educational requirements, experience may be substituted on a year for year basis. Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience managing a team of law enforcement personnel.
