Maximus TCS (Technology and Consulting Services) Internal Job Profile Code: TCS159, P3, Band 6

What you will be doing:

Duties include policy drafting, authoring, analyses, proof-reading, and composition of relevant DoD Special Access Program (SAP) technical information. Crafts and edits policy and technical documentation with appropriate DoD terminology. Conforms technical information into clear, readable documents to be used by technical and non-technical personnel. Leads the development of documents and reports to include updating graphical presentations to improve the quality and enhance the usability of documents.

Other responsibilities include:

- Developing documents including, DoD policy drafts, Standard Operating procedures (SOPs), training materials, guides, and reports.

- Editing and providing technical writing functional descriptions, system specifications, technical activities and their outcomes, special reports, or any other customer deliverables and documents.

- Making sure the use of proper technical terminology and DoD references are applied, and DoD policy format standards are in use.

- Organizing material and completing writing assignment according to set standards regarding order, conciseness, style, and terminology.

- Establishing the overall policy document pipeline and editorial standards of the submissions.

- Working with the client Front Office to develop a consistent, uniform style and language as applied to the SAP community.


Required Skills:

- Candidates must have an active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.

- Bachelor's degree is required for this position. 4 years of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of the degree requirement. An Associate's degree and 2 years of relevant work experience may also be considered in lieu of the degree requirement

- 8+ years of demonstrable experience in writing policy.

- 6+ years of experience supporting the DoD or IC in any policy or related management function.



Minimum Requirements TCS159, P3, Band 6

Desired Skills:

- Master’s degree in any policy or technology related field. A master's degree and 6 years of demonstrable experience in writing policy is acceptable

- Policy experience related to any SAP or similar program preferred

- Experience as titled manager or policy creations leader/officer

- Experience with DoD and/or the IC relating to policies, instructions, or guidance formation/development

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
