Job Summary
The Policy & Performance Senior Manager will support and report to the Vice President of Clinical Performance within the MGB Office of the Chief Medical Officer (OCMO). This individual will assist in the tracking and coordination of major strategic initiatives across OCMO within the areas of Quality, Safety, Clinician & Patient Experience, and Community Health & Health Equity.In addition, they will be responsible for the maintenance of MGB’s system-wide medical policy management process to ensure consistency and coordination of policies across the areas governed by the Office of the Chief Medical Officer.
They will be responsible for managing MGB Medical Policy Committee (MPC) meetings and they will partner with key hospital and enterprise leaders to ensure the policy management information system meets regulatory, compliance and clinical standards in alignment with MGB system goals & strategies.
OCMO Performance Management
- Assist in the process of creating a strategy to engage hospital Boards in the quality transformation; implement processes to ensure appropriate governance structures and processes are in place, manage and maintain those processes once implemented
- Liaise with key hospital leaders and project teams to communicate OCMO strategy, policy and measurement activities
- Identify areas of opportunity for alignment within the OCMO, partner with appropriate OCMO leaders to execute alignment work as needed
- Hold hospital and enterprise leaders accountable for project timelines, goals, deliverables, budgets and communication efforts related to the quality transformation
- Help to prepare materials for Quality Board subcommittee meetings
- Help to prepare materials for key OCMO leadership meetings
- Participate in the design and implementation of formative and summative evaluations of OCMO goals and strategic programs. Support end-user teaching/training on OCMO dashboards as needed
- Manage Executive/Administrative Assistant team who provide calendar and project support to OCMO Senior Leaders
Medical Policy Management
-Responsible for managing the logistics surrounding the MGB Medical Policy Committee (MPC), including preparation of meeting content, meeting minutes, and following up on action items
-Maintain MPC sharepoint site to ensure committee members have access to required documentation related to committee onboarding, policy review processes, policies currently under review, and upcoming policies to review
-Coordinate with policy owners to ensure policies are drafted in accordance with MGB medical policy standards prior to MPC review; provide policy owners with feedback from MPC in a timely manner
-Liaise with MPC members and policy owners as needed to answer questions or provide guidance around the policy creation and approval process
-Ensure policies are uploaded and cataloged approproiately in the MGB policy management system; coordinate with the MGB CMO or their delegate to approve policies in the MGB policy management system
-Identify opportunities to scale site policies enterprise wide and/or retire redundant or outdated policies
-Oversee the development of a centralized clinical guideline catalogue across MGB with standard language and terminology
-Coordinate with enterprise teams (HR, Compliance) and OCMO leaders to ensure MGB new hire orientation and annual training content meets clinical compliance regulatory requirements
