Responsibilities

We take our sleep seriously and with our techs to help we can find effective ways to help others. This position contributes to the mission and vision of CHI Health by providing direct patient care independently and safely operating sophisticated medical equipment to record sleep/wake stages respiratory events cardiac events limb movements and other clinical events of patient care. Participates in the development and implementation of departmental policies procedures and quality assurance programs.

Provides for the assessment and evaluation of the appropriateness and effectiveness of diagnostic testing based on multiple patient factors and is responsible for communication to the physician of pertinent patient data.

Initiates and monitors overnight testing procedures in accordance with American Academy of Sleep Medicine.

Communicates a professional attitude and practices strict ethical enforcement of protected health information.

Assists coordinator with quality assurance programs for the department and makes recommendations as needed.

Operates in full compliance with organization’s safety program responding to all emergency preparedness situations as appropriate.

Performs duties in accordance with requirements of all regulating bodies.

Assumes responsibility for personal and professional growth and fulfills yearly education requirements.


Qualifications

Required:

Graduate of an AMA approved 2-4 year program of Respiratory Therapy

Licensed as Respiratory Care Practitioner with State of Nebraska

Additional Requirements:

AHA BLS or BLS instructor certification is required upon hire

PALS & ACLS certification preferred
