Responsibilities

We take our sleep seriously, and with our Polysom Techs to help, we can find effective ways to help others. This position allows you to step into the role in a training capacity as you work to become fully certified as a Polysomnographic Technologist.

What you will do:

Provides for the assessment and evaluation of the appropriateness and effectiveness of diagnostic testing ands responsible for communication to the physician of pertinent patient dataInitiates and monitors overnight testing procedures in accordance with American Academy of Sleep MedicineCommunicates a professional attitude with patients, visitors and other hospital personnel and practices strict ethical enforcement of protected medical and employee confidentialityOperates in full compliance with the organization’s safety program, responds to all emergency preparedness situations as appropriate, utilizes standard precaution and assures unit’s equipment is ready for safe operation, and participates in quality assurance programs as directedAssumes responsibility for personal and professional growth, and fulfills yearly education requirements as stated by policy Scores sleep studies under the supervision of a RPSGT, RST or CPSGTAuthorized to make entries in the electronic medical record, consistent with and limited to the scope of the job duties and any applicable licensurePerforms other duties as may be assigned by management

What you need:

High School diploma or equivalentStrongly preferred: ASTEP certification completed or in progressRPSGT certification within 2 years of hireLicensure for IA polysomnography within 2 years of hireBLS certification from American heart Association required upon hire
