A Registered Polysomnography Technician is a lead worker who has demonstrated expertise in performing various types of sleep testing procedures. The technician is capable of identifying various abnormalities, and performs tests adhering to Department standards to consistently produce records of high technical quality. The Registered Polysomnography Technician acts a resource person for the Licensed Polysomnography Technician.
Education Requirements: Polysomnography Technicians are required to have an Associates degree in Respiratory Care and New York State licensure in Respiratory Therapy with an SDS (sleep disorders specialist) add on.
Graduation from an accredited Polysomnography program with an AAS, registered (RPSGT) through the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists and valid Polysomnogram License in NYS preferred.
Experience Requirements:
One to three years experience in a sleep lab.
Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
Ability to use applied technology in a clinical setting.
Pay range: $30.00-$43.50
Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
