Polysomnographic Technician
Shift and Status Full time, 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., variable days and weekends Job Summary In a trainee role, provides physicians and patients with support needed to facilitate the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders and the promotion of good sleep. Essential Duties + Under the mentorship of a registered technologist, performs diagnostic sleep testing, including but not limited to order interpretation, medication administration, patient hook-up and monitoring, BLS responsibility, continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) initiation and titration, oxygen administration, and other related duties. + Documents findings / patient responses in a manner consistent with documentation guidelines. + Reports equipment problems to the appropriate person. + Actively participates in safety initiatives and risk mitigating measures where appropriate and completes all position and unit safety related competencies and requirements on a timely basis. + Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required + High School Diploma or equivalent + Accredited Sleep Technologist Education Program (A-STEP), AASM, American Academy of Sleep Medicine within 1 year. + Basic Life Support (BLS), American Heart Association or American Red Cross within 90 days.
