Aspirus is currently seeking a POLYSOMNOGRAPHIC TECHNOLOGIST in Wausau, Wisconsin to work in the Regional Sleep Disorders Center at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. Duties include, but are not limited to:

Performs calibration procedures with electrophysiologic amplifiers, data recorders and central computer station.Electrically interfaces data outputs of capnographs, oximeters and respiratory inductive plethysmographs to inputs of electrophysiologic amplifiers and recorders.Selects appropriate transducers for use with the patient.Applies transducers to patient.Performs operational checks of recording devices prior to initiating study.Insures patient comfort and safety during testing.Identifies and corrects artifacts during the course of recording during sleep.Ensures the accuracy and safety of instruments in use during recording with patients.Sets up and maintains nasal/oral thermocouples, impedance converters, EOG/EEG/EKG/EMG surface electrodes, oximetry probes, capnography sampling lines and inducive plethysmogram converters.Removes transducers from the patient post testing.Cleans and/or sterilizes transducers after use.

Hours: This position is Full Time; 0.9 FTE or 72 hours per pay period. Night shift. 6p – 6a shift

Experience/Qualifications

Knowledge of sleep disorders and testing normally acquired through completion of an Associate Degree of Science from an AMA approved school of Respiratory Care and/or completion of an Associate Degree of Electroneuro diagnostics is preferred but not required.Two years’ experience as a Polysomnographic Technologist recommended.One year experience in respiratory care beneficial.
