\n\nSign-on-Bonus 5K\nPolysomnography Technologist 2\nLocation: BSW College Station, Texas\nSchedule: FT Night Position \n\n

The Polysomnography Technologist 2, under the direction of the Manager, coordinates the daily operations of the Sleep Laboratory. Within this framework, accountable for monitoring and accessing Sleep Lab quality, policies and procedures, staff and equipment performance. Communicates and educates patients and families regarding sleep disorders and treatments. Consults with referring physicians regarding patient results.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE

\n\nPerforms polysomnographic studies in a clinical setting, including oxygen and nasal continuous positive airway pressure titrations.\nScores studies and formulates reports for physician interpretation. Documents all pertinent patient events according to department policy.\nCommunicates instructions, results, and relative information to patients, physicians, and family members.\nCalibrates and performs routine and troubleshooting maintenance on equipment, contacting manufacturers for repairs as needed. Notifies proper personnel for equipment problems. Cleans all equipment ensuring infection control.\nConsults regularly with the Medical Director regarding patient studies.\nMaintains standards for completeness of Continuous Quality Improvement and Quality Control measurements.\nOrients and trains new Sleep Lab employees.\nEstablishes and implements performance improvements including education and staff development.\nCommunicates concerns and/or problems with possible solutions to the Department Manager or Director.\nMaintains a current and complete Policy and Procedure Manual.\n\n

KEY SUCCESS FACTORS

\n\nAdvanced expertise of Polysomnographic Care modalities, therapies, equipment and medications.\nMust be able to read, write and follow flow chart protocols as appropriate.\nMust be able to communicate thoughts clearly; both orally and in writing.\nMust be able to work under stressful conditions.\nMust have critical thinking and problem solving skills.\nAbility to follow established safety, infection control, and isolation procedures at all times.\nAble to proportion multiple demands and respond to time constraints.\nAbility to maintain and troubleshoot audio and video equipment.\nGeneral computer skills, including but not limited to data entry, information security, electronic medical documentation, handheld scanning and email.\n\n

QUALIFICATIONS

- EDUCATION - Associate's or 2 years of work experience above the minimum qualification

- EXPERIENCE - 2 Years of Experience

- CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION -
       Polysomnography Tech (POLYTECH)

       Basic Life Support (BLS): BLS or CPR Required.
