SBM Management is searching for a Pond Technician to join our team! The Pond Technician will be responsible for the maintenance and management of pools, ponds and other aquatic systems. This role involves inspecting, maintaining, and ensuring the health and aesthetic quality of the pools and ponds on the grounds. The technician will work closely with the property manager to implement effective pool & pond management practices.
ResponsibilitiesInspect and maintain ponds and pools, including water quality testing, vegetation control, and debris removal.Monitor and manage aquatic life, ensuring a balanced ecosystem.Operate and maintain pond equipment such as pumps, filters, and aerators.Implement Integrated Pest Management (IPM) plans to control unwanted vegetation and pests.Frequently assess pond conditions and perform necessary maintenance tasks.Collaborate with the grounds support team to ensure overall landscape health and aesthetics.Document maintenance activities and report any issues or concerns to the supervisor.Must be willing to do other labor projects on grounds as needed. QualificationsHigh School diploma or equivalent; technical training or some college preferred.3+ years of knowledge of aquatic systems, including plants, fish, and water quality management.3+ years experience with pool and pond maintenance equipment and techniques.Valid HI Drivers’ License Strong verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Physical ability to lift and move up to 60 pounds.Knowledge of tropical plant and tree care.Experience with irrigation systems and grounds equipment.Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.Compensation: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
