Pool Supervisor - Hershey Country Club

This position is responsible for supervising lifeguards on duty, maintaining pool deck cleanliness, and ensuring guest safety during all pool activities.

Job Duties (Duties marked with an asterisk are essential functions of this job):

Daily supervision of pool facility operation including, but not limited to, cleaning of pool and surrounding areas, trash removal, tracking supply needs, monitoring towel supply, monitoring on a set schedule the locker rooms and bath rooms, completing maintenance requests. 

Oversight of lifeguard staff including creating schedule, guard rotation, break schedules, staff meetings, and ensuring policies and procedures are met. 

Train new and existing staff in proper opening/closing of the pool and department policies. 

Assist with special events and activities. Collaborate with the Splashes team as well as with the HCC Management team. 

Schedule private and group swim lessons. Provide lifeguarding as well as private and group swim lessons to members’ children as needed. 

Work with the HCC Management team to maximize Hershey Country Club Members’ experiences through responding to Member requests, providing high levels of customer service and anticipating the Members’ needs while visiting the Pool and Tennis Center 

Maintain accurate records, including accident and injury reports, chemical logs, weekly pool testing, and lab reports. 

Interact with guests in a professional manner to address questions, communicate pool closings due to contamination or weather, and address any opportunities that may arise

Facilitating weekly in-service trainings for all lifeguards

Participate in monthly departmental staff meetings 

Maintain uniform and pool supplies inventory 

Maintain all department storage areas in a clean, clutter-free manner 

Oversee the department’s tracking of lost and found items 

Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Must be 18 years old or older. 

Minimum of 2 years of lifeguard experience or on a swim team 

Applicants must attend and complete the Jeff Ellis & Associates International Pool and Lifeguard program provided and paid for by the Hershey Entertainment & Resorts properties.   

Must obtain First Aid/CPR/AED certification

This position is designated as Safety Sensitive and requires successful completion and passing of a pre-employment drug test.

In accordance with Pennsylvania's Child Protective Services Law, candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a report of criminal history from the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP), Child Abuse History Clearance from the Department of Human Services (Child Abuse), and Fingerprint-based federal criminal history submitted through the Pennsylvania State Police or its authorized agent (FBI), as a condition of continued employment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Current Lifeguard Training and Certification and First Aid Certification preferred. 

Applicants must attend and complete the Ellis & Assoc. International Pool and Lifeguard Training Program provided by the Hershey Entertainment and Resorts properties. Must be able to swim 100 yards using crawl or breaststroke without resting 

Must be able to feet first surface dive and retrieve a 10 lb. brick from a minimum depth of 8 ft. (or deepest depth of the facility) and bring it to the surface 

Must be able to tread water without using arms for 1 minute 

Must be able to safely exit pool without use of stairs, ladders, or zero depth 

Ability to handle stressful working conditions, emergencies, and to accept a high degree of accountability 

Must be in good physical condition 

Must have normal vision (20/25 or 20/25 corrected) 

Must be friendly, upbeat, and work well with other employees and be able to interact with our guests 

Must have the ability to safeguard confidential information 

Proficient in the use of Google Suite and Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word

Knowledge of Child Labor Laws 

Must display a positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and professional image in compliance with Hershey Entertainment & Resorts 

Maintain lifeguarding and first aid skills at test level readiness at all times

Job Demands:

Available from beginning of May through Labor Day and weekends in September 

Able to work in Summer temperatures reaching above 90 degrees 

Able to stand for long periods of time while on duty 

Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays 

Able to lift 50 lbs.
