Position Overview
Under the general direction of the Charge Technologist, Radiology, and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface Hospital, the Porter, Diagnostic Imaging is responsible for: transporting and assisting patients; attending to the needs of patients; documenting appropriate information; wiping down equipment and ensuring same is in adequate working order; ensuring rooms are properly stocked with linen; ensuring the adequate supply of oxygen tanks and changing them as required; and performing other related duties as assigned.
Experience Minimum six (6) months experience in a hospital or recognized equivalent health care setting as a patient porter or other direct patient care position. Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate) Grade 12, or recognized equivalent. Certification/Licensure/RegistrationNot Applicable
Qualifications and Skills Ability to read, write, speak and understand English. Ability to interact well with others. Good interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to retain information which is of a confidential nature. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and move heavy patients.
