Business Overview:

The Neuberger Berman Real Estate Securities Group invests in and actively manages portfolios of publicly traded real estate securities, primarily Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) securities. The team manages approximately $1.8 billion in AUM and has a 20+ year track record of investments in mutual funds, UCITs funds, closed-end funds, institutional and high-net worth separate accounts. The team seeks to provide investors with diversified exposure, by both geography and property type, to the U.S. listed property market. The team consists of a Senior Portfolio Manager, Portfolio Manager, Associate Portfolio Manager and Associate.

Position Overview:

The Real Estate Securities Group is seeking a Portfolio Associate to join the team. This person will work closely with team members in New York. The Associate will support the team with day-to-day group operations and interact with various production functions at the firm. This person will also assist with daily trading, manage monthly client reporting and handle many of the administrative roles on the team. This role will provide the individual with an in-depth perspective on the Real Estate Securities Group business.

Primary Responsibilities:

Provide administrative support for a busy portfolio management team, including two Managing Directors and a Senior Vice PresidentManage monthly client reports including written commentary, attribution analysis and company summariesCreate and update multiple valuation models, model portfolio templates, and databases primarily using Excel, FactSet and BloombergTrade execution and assist in the trade preparation for client accounts taking into consideration portfolio weightings and specific client goalsContribute to the preparation and drafting of marketing materials distributed within Neuberger Berman and to outside clientsAdministrative responsibilities e.g. scheduling appointments, booking client/sales/research meetings, coordinating travel arrangements and process travel and expense reportsLiaise, collaborate and communicate the team’s message and themes to the sales team, external clients and product and marketing teams.

Experience & Skills Qualifications:

Undergraduate degree across all majors with a strong interest in the financial services industry. All team members have a diverse array of educational backgrounds and experiencePrevious work experience a plusSIE, Series 7 and 66 required upon hireMust be able to work independently yet function within the teamOutstanding organizational and problem-solving skillsAbility to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environmentExcellent oral and written communication skillsStrong computer skills required, Microsoft Office a must (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

Compensation Details

The salary range for this role is $80,000-$100,000. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in the job posting location. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, business sector, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, market benchmarking data, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. This job is also eligible for a discretionary bonus, which, along with base salary and retirement contributions, is part of our total comprehensive package. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k), life insurance and other benefits to eligible employees.
