TotalEnergies, a global integrated energy producer and supplier, is expanding its footprint with a strategic focus on integrated energy. Following the recent acquisition of 1.3 GW of CCGT, the company is strengthening its portfolio management capabilities to support its growth in the UK market and beyond. This acquisition aligns with TotalEnergies’ long-term goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050 and providing clean and reliable energy to its customers by building an international, cost-competitive portfolio combining renewable energy and flexible assets (CCGT, storage). 


Activities

Within the Energy Management Consolidation Department, the Portfolio Manager aims to gain a deep understanding of energy management, forward hedging, and risk management. The job environment is dynamic and fast-paced, requiring the Portfolio Manager to act quickly. The portfolio to be managed is growing, with additional opportunities on the horizon. This role is crucial for defining hedging strategies to manage the financial risks of the forward portfolio, specifically our CCGT assets.

The Portfolio Manager for Flexible Assets has the following main responsibilities:

Develop a methodology and pricing model for hedging in the UK;Develop detailed reports on the state of hedging;Participate in defining TotalEnergies’ hedging strategy (appropriate limits and objectives to mitigate financial risks);Align short-term actions with medium-term hedging strategies in close collaboration with our partner and electricity trading desks;Closely monitor portfolio optimization and its performance;Analyze the electricity and gas markets in the UK, including supply and demand dynamics, price trends, regulatory changes, and technologies;Monitor the financial risk of the forward portfolio using risk assessment and mitigation techniques. Candidate Profile You have a Master’s degree (Bac+5) from a business or engineering school with a focus on economics and/or finance;You have 5 years of experience in electricity markets and trading with solid experience in forward hedging and risk management. Experience in optimizing CCGT assets is a real asset;You have an in-depth understanding of the energy industry, electricity market structures, preferably the UK market, and energy trading dynamics;You are proficient in advanced Excel and have coding knowledge (Python…). Knowledge of PowerBI is a plus;You speak English fluently and have basic knowledge of French.
