We are currently seeking a Portfolio Manager to join our team in McLean, Virginia (US-VA), United States (US).

NTT DATA is seeking an experienced and strategic Portfolio Manager with federal government IT experience to oversee our project portfolio. The Portfolio Manager will be responsible for managing the selection, prioritization, and governance of IT projects to ensure alignment with business objectives and maximize value delivery. This role involves collaborating with stakeholders to balance resources, manage risks, and drive strategic initiatives.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and manage the IT project portfolio, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy and goals. Establish and maintain portfolio management processes, including project selection, prioritization, and governance. Collaborate with senior leadership to define and communicate portfolio objectives, priorities, and performance metrics. Monitor and evaluate portfolio performance, providing regular updates and reports to senior management. Facilitate resource allocation and capacity planning across the portfolio to optimize project delivery. Identify, assess, and manage portfolio risks, implementing mitigation strategies as needed. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance portfolio management practices and outcomes. Ensure effective communication and collaboration among project managers, stakeholders, and executive leadership. Strong knowledge of portfolio management methodologies, tools, and best practices. Proven experience in managing large and complex project portfolios. Excellent strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in portfolio management software and tools, such as MS Project, JIRA, or similar. Provide leadership and guidance to project managers and teams, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence. Support the development and execution of strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with portfolio objectives.

 

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred. Minimum of 7 years of experience in project and portfolio management in a federal government environment, with a proven track record of successful portfolio oversight. Professional certification such as Project Management Professional (PMP) required. ITIL v4 Foundations certification
